Here is a trailer for comedic movie starring Anna Kendrick.
The film’s description (according to IMDB)
Ex-maid of honor Eloise – having been relieved of her duties after being unceremoniously dumped by the best man via text- decides to attend the wedding anyway only to find herself seated with 5 “random” guests at the dreaded Table 19.
THOUGHTS ON THE TRAILER:
1. Anna Kendrick is the same in every movie.
I don’t know why but everytime I see Anna Kendrick it is like she is the same character.
This movie could be a sequel to the Perfect Pitch franchise and I wouldn’t be even know.
Good for her, she found her niche.
But my god, is she even acting at this point?
2. Is the whole movie going to be at the table?
Are they really going to spend the whole movie just sitting down at the table?
That is different.
They better have good dialogue to pull that off.
Because that is not going to be easy.
Having people just sit and talk for 2 hours is tougher to write than it looks.
3. Good to see Craig Robinson.
Craig Robinson is one of those guys that I don’t think is necessarily a great actor, but he is very funny so he can get away with it.
Like Kevin James.
He is not versatile as an actor.
You can tell he is a comedian in an actor’s body.
And I am fine with that.
Anna Kendrick on the other hand isn’t trying to be a comedian.
She is trying to be a funny actress, which is the reason I don’t bore of Robinson.
4. How long is that wedding?
What is just me or was that wedding like four days long?
I thought these people didn’t even want to be there and now they are there for week?
It could have been the editing of the scenes, but if it isn’t and the movie takes place over a course of a few days, then the film has some explaining to do.
5. Good setup of characters.
I got to say this movie trailer did a good job of letting us know that this is not a Anna Kendrick movie.
This is more of an assemble of outcast characters at a wedding.
As long as the characters show us they are interesting for the whole film, then this movie will be fine, because I am not going in expecting Kendrick to get the guy.
6. That’s Phoebe!
Yes that is Phoebe from Friends.
Apparently she still has that comedic timing.
Her and Robinson will be great in this.
That gets me to my last point.
7. So they work there?
The two characters, Craig Robinson’s and Phoebe’s say some odd things about why they are there.
First Robinson says, “I can smell the toilets here. That’s how well we know the bride and groom.”
Then Robinson makes Phoebe stand up and we see she is wearing the same outfit as the wait staff.
They both work there?
But that may have been better to leave for me to find out in the theaters.
GOING BASED ON THE TRAILER:
Yeah. I say that I would see this movie. It may not be a hit, but I would give this one a shot.
BOX OFFICE PROJECTION:
I say 10-15 million in the first week. If this movie pulls in 20 million or above then it would be considered a hit, at least to me. I can’t see this movie making a large splash its first weekend, like 30 million. Does Anna Kendrick have that large of a fanbase? I don’t know. We will see. I wouldn’t put money down on it.
REMINDS ME OF:
I read how people say that this reminds them of The Breakfast Club. And since I can’t come up with anything better than that, here is the trailer. You can decide for yourself.
